SMC has already embodied to me that drive and discipline needed to be successful. A lot of challenges have passed through those years of grade school. South Mansfield College has been a blessing to me. It honed me holistically and led me to what I am now. I know that I will be a better person as I continue my journey with SMC’s guidance. I am hoping that our achievement now will be duplicated if not surpassed by the students of the early grades. The journey made me Learn, Unlearn and Relearn a lot in life.

One of the things I’m grateful for in SMC is that they ensured that their students’ mental health are taken care of without compromising their capacity to learn. With the help of their Virtual Online Learning and Teaching Program, or what we simply know as VOLT, we were able to receive the optimal resources and knowledge needed to study and were able to gain numerous windows of opportunity to hone our skills and gifts in the comfort of our homes.

My days in Senior High School and College have guided me to be the person that I am today. One of the memorable things that I am grateful for from SMC was the introduction of Growth Mindset. Having a growth mindset had given me more room to grow not just as a student, but as an individual as well. Now I believe that it’s important to apply this mindset in order to achieve success. My experience in SMC is full of firsts. I remember when I first fell in love with reading, thanks to a book that I read from my preschool days. I can still remember the happy feeling of making my first friends and the joy of learning together with them. But as we all know, medals, books and friends are just pieces in the puzzle that is school life. We all have experienced ups and downs that shaped us into the individuals that we are today.
