In a recent selection process held by the Muntinlupa City Council for the Protection of Children (MCCPC), Anne R. van Tuin, a Grade 9 student from South Mansfield College, was elected as a child representative. Representing Barangay Bayanan, Anne was chosen alongside other young leaders, with each representing one of Muntinlupa’s two districts. The selection was finalized on October 12, 2024, marking a significant milestone for Anne and her community.
As a child representative, Anne’s responsibilities include voicing the concerns and ideas of Muntinlupa’s children and participating in plans for National Children’s Month in November. Her role allows her to collaborate with city officials to promote the welfare and rights of children, and her input will be vital in shaping programs that reflect the needs of young people across the city.
Further expanding her role in child rights advocacy, Anne also serves on the Regional Committee for the Welfare of Children representing the National Capital Region (NCR). In this capacity, she is involved in discussions and decision-making at the regional level, advocating for NCR’s children alongside other leaders to enhance policies and programs that prioritize children’s well-being across the region.
Anne’s election as child representative highlights her dedication to community leadership and her commitment to making a difference for her peers.
