SMC students capture the APSAM Academic Race 2015 title

SMC students have proved once again their exemplary performance in academics. The standards of our curriculum remained a strong force in making our students proficient in all subject areas.

The Grade School team of Wischelle Ama (Grade 5 Humility), Ann Margareth Tapac (Grade 6 Perseverance), and Andrea Li Santos (Grade 6 Perseverance) emerged as this year’s Champion amongst 30 teams from different private schools of Muntinlupa. They topped the competition from the eliminations up until the finals by getting a perfect score in all English questions and high scores in Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Mahrcus Leanard Usisa (Grade 10 Resilience), Maricar Bunyi (Grade 10 Resilience), and Jan Mariz Orpilla (Grade 9 Integrity) did not let down the judges from start to finish and came in strong from the easy to the difficult round. They hurdled tough questions and emerged First Runner-Up in the High School category amongst 19 competing teams.
The APSAM Academic Race aims to promote excellence in Science, Math, Communication Arts (English and Filipino), and Social Studies (HEKASI and Araling Panlipunan) and uplift the academic standing of private schools in Muntinlupa in the National Achievement Test (NAT) and the National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE). The activity also serves as venue for awareness as regards developments in the fields of Science, Mathematics, Communication Arts and Social Studies.
The 2015 APSAM Academic Race, which was participated in by Grade 5 and 6 students for the Elementary Category, and Grade 9 and Fourth Year students in the High School category, was held last October 08, 2015 at the Activity Center of Festival Supermall—Alabang.
