Remembering Teacher Arlene

Arlene Sta. Maria, Deputy Principal of South Mansfield College, passed away this morning. Teacher Arlene, as fondly called by students, parents, and colleagues, had worked for SMC since 2005 and pioneered the establishment of the basic education program.

Her career spanned for more than 15 years and included positions in Southville International School and Colleges and South Mansfield College.Teacher Arlene was an exceptional academic head and deputy principal providing effective leadership to the students, staff, and parents. He had high expectations for her students and staff and tirelessly provided the leadership, and encouragement they needed to achieve more. She is also an avid support to all the principals that she had worked with.

Teacher Arlene’s vision and strong commitment, coupled with an extraordinary sense of empathy and judgment, made her a beloved member of the SMC and SISC community in which she worked throughout her career. As we grieve her death today, we also remember her great contribution for her students throughout her career as reading teacher and academic head and know that her legacy will live on for the next generation.
The management offers its condolences to the Sta. Maria family, friends, colleagues, and students, during this difficult time.
Funeral services will take place at Heaven’s Garden Memorial Chapels, National Highway, Los Baños, Laguna. The schedule of internment will be announced soon.
