With their feat in the Manila Round last July 14-15, 2019, the South Mansfield team emerged victorious in the recently held The World Scholar’s Cup Global Rounds held at Resorts World Manila.
The team participated in different rigorous yet exciting and challenging activities such as the Scholar’s Challenge, Scholar’s Bowl, Collaborative Writing, and Team debate.
The following are the awards out of approximately 1,000 participants:
Angela Amor Balagon—Top 25% Challenge Literature, 39th Team Debate, 104th debate Champions, Gold Team Debate, Gold Individual Debate, Qualified for Tournament of Champions in Yale University
Jyde Matthew Gonzales—Top 45% Challenge History, 39th Team Debate, 116th Debate Champions, Gold Team Debate, Gold Individual Debate, Top Junior Scholar, Qualified for Tournament of Champions in Yale University
Ann Margareth Tapac—Top 35% Challenge Special Area, Top 35% Challenge Arts, Top 40% Champion Scholars, Top 45% Challenge Science, Top 40% Individual Challenge, 39th Team Debate, 118th Writing Champions, Gold Team Debate, Gold Writing Champions, Gold Top Scholar, Silver Medal Challenge History, Qualified for Tournament of Champions in Yale University
