South Mansfield College (SMC) is the first school in the Philippines to be ISO 9001:2015 Certified after an external audit last February 2016.
In the official website of International Organization for Standardization, Nigel Croft, Chair of the ISO subcommittee that developed ISO 9001:2015, called the standardization “evolutionary rather than a revolutionary” as it focuses more on performance and not on documentation of standardized procedures.
“We are bringing ISO 9001 firmly into the 21st century by combining the process approach with risk-based thinking, and employing the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle at all levels in the organization,” Nigel Croft said.
Results of the audit showed that South Mansfield College achieved quality and consistent outputs on prescribed standards like effective processes, aligned documented procedures, performance measurements and records among others.
Mr. Rolly Donato, Principal of SMC, believes that the ISO 9001:2015 Certification will be beneficial to the school and its students.
“The adoption of a quality management system is a strategic decision of South Mansfield College that can help to improve its overall performance and provide sound basis for sustainable development initiatives. With this, we can consistently provide world-class quality education and services that meet stakeholders’ expectations and statutory and regulatory requirements and facilitate opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction.”
South Mansfield College is located in Muntinlupa and is a member of Southville Global Education Network together with Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), Southville International School Affiliated with Foreign Universities (SISFU), South SEED-LPDH College (SSLC), Stonyhurst Southville International School (SSIS-Batangas and Malarayat) and SEED Academy.
