BS TM debonair wins in Mr. SGEN 2017

Beauty and brains are what South Mansfield College students possess.

Mark Timothy Arzaga (4th Year Tourism Management) got the nod from the judges and emerged Second Runner-Up in the recently held Mr. and Ms. SGEN (Southville Global Education Network) 2017. He competed in national costume, beach wear, evening wear and Q&A among 8 male candidates from Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), South SEED LPDH College, SEED Academy, and Southville International School affiliated with Foreign Universities (SISFU). Timothy also won Mr. Congeniality and Best in National Costume.

Margarita Ana Gonzalez (3rd Year Tourism Management), Marie Jasmine Gallardo (4th Year Tourism Management), and Eldrine Tuazon (3rd Year HRM) also confidently represented South Mansfield College in the competition.

Mr. & Ms. SGEN is a celebration of beauty that seeks to promote and intertwine physical beauty and intelligence among SGEN Schools. The event was organized to promote the culture of international friendship, one global family and service for global peace. The winners will serve as Ambassadors of Goodwill and represent SGEN in promoting global peace and understanding.

SMC Royals shine in Division Press Conference

High school students of South Mansfield College joined and actively participated in the most recent Division Press Conference last August 19, 2017 held at Itaas Elementary School.

Proof of our students’ proficiency in Writing and Journalism, Miguel Secuando of Grade 9 Integrity bagged First Place in Editorial Writing (English). On the other hand, Katherine Sarmiento of Grade 12 ranked Third in Feature Writing (English). Miguel and Katherine will advance to the Regional Finals together with Kiara Soberano (4th Place—Copy Reading and Headline Writing in Filipino), Ma. Angelica Joy La Madrid (8th Place—Copy Reading and Headline Writing in Filipino), Dianne Villena (6th Place—Feature Writing in Filipino), Marvin Louise Refran (6th Place—News Writing in Filipino), Jamie Rosales (9th Place—Cartooning in English), and JM Obias (6th Place—Photojournalism in English). The Regional Finals will be held at San Francisco High School, Quezon City, on September 25-29, 2017.

DepEd’s Press Conference is an annual activity that promotes responsible journalism and fair and ethical use of social media, and enhance journalistic competence through healthy and friendly competitions among students from public and private schools. This effort is pursuant to Republic Act 7079 also known as Campus Journalism Act of 1991.

Grade 11 debonair wins in Mr. Teen Centennial of Muntinlupa

Beauty and brains are what South Mansfield College students possess.

L-Gene Vyge C. Poblete of Grade 11 got the nod from the judges and emerged Fourth Runner-Up in the recently held Mr. and Ms. Teen Centennial 2017. L-Gene also won as Best in Ethnic Attire besting contestants from 16 schools in Muntinlupa City. He competed in talent, national costume, career attire, and evening wear to land in the top 5 among 21 male candidates. Isabella Sotta of Grade 12 also showed beauty, grace and poise throughout the competition. Mr. & Ms. Teen Centennial 2017 is a celebration of beauty that seeks to promote and intertwine physical beauty, intelligence, and talent among the youth of Muntinlupa City. The event was organized by the YASDO in line with the city’s Centennial Year.
